Although the greatest part of his work over the years has been the creation of Precious Moments artwork, Sam Butcher has also delved into other styles of art, including the hilarious "McCoon's County" work. Sam was "inspired" to draw McCoon's County when he began living in the Ozarks, and in some of the work, you can even find Sam himself, clowing around. This piece was the last piece introduced in the McCoon's County line just before it was discontinued by Precious Moments Country (now Precious Moments Company). Although it says on the figurine that there were to be 10,000 pieces, Sam himself has told me that they produced less than 2,000 of them before it was all over and done with. This piece shows an angry couple who have exchanged bathroom scales for their Christmas gifts!
